Back to Building: Modern Tudor Exterior

These doors say, “Welcome!”

These doors say, “Welcome!”

It has been months since I've posted and I am so bummed to have been away for so long. But just like all of you, when life gets overwhelming, we stick to the basics; taking care of our families, our homes, and ourselves! Many of you also know that, in addition to flipping and building houses, I run a staging company with my sister. So, this year has been a lot! Not only was it about managing my building company but, keeping our staging company going strong (15 years – thank you,) my first year of marriage, our blended family, a new home, and sadly the recent loss of my oldest brother.

Phew! I am just happy to be here in one piece to tell the story of designing, building and rehabbing houses and the life that this creative job has given me. So, enough about why things have been quiet and onto what is coming your way.

We are in the home stretch of our largest rehab project ever! Which means all the good stuff is happening now. And, wow, is there some good stuff in this beautiful home! What better time to get you all back on board and up-to-date? Join me as we head to the finish line of our latest project, the “Modern Tudor."

Let’s start by showing you our new exterior. We have taken this traditional Tudor to new heights by painting it white and converting the garage to a family room with beautiful French doors that will lead to a patio and pretty front yard.

These was a real top to bottom rehab.

We added a dormer on the front of the house which is home to the master bathroom and closet.  We changed out (almost) every window in the house!  And, yes, I am thrilled I chose black windows.

Two more pairs of French doors have also been added to the breathtaking view deck that will feature a new glass railing. What a great place for relaxing or entertaining this will be for the new homeowners.

Thanks for checking back in and taking a minute to catch up on our progress. We are busy working on more exterior details such as lighting, landscape, fences, porches, and more.  But we are thrilled you stopped by and we are ready to share the final part of this project including all the sources for our finishes. Stay tuned and as always, let me know if you have any questions on our "Modern Tudor," past projects, or flipping houses in general.
