Modern Tudor Paint Colors
Hello Friends!
I am hoping this post finds you surviving the current events of our world in the healthiest way possible for you. It has surely been bigger than any of us expected. We have been working and staying home and have even done some fun things to our own home but most importantly we finished and sold our Modern Tudor! Yahoo! So now that I have a little more time on my hands I wanted to take a look back and share some of the design highlights of this project. And there are some good ones!
Let’s start with the most popular question I get on any of my building and remodel projects – what paint color is that? And our Modern Tudor is no exception!
For our Modern Tudor, I mirrored the interior and exterior paint colors. I have never done this before, but I think I may do it again as it really brings the two together seamlessly.
The interior walls & trim, as well as the body of the exterior of the house, are all in Benjamin Moore’s Simply White. This is my absolute go-to white paint color these days because it works almost everywhere. It’s a warm white with a slight yellow undertone allowing it to look crisp but not sterile. A beautiful warm white that isn’t cream, it really is the perfect paint color. Previously, I was a Benjamin Moore White Dove girl. Although I still really like it, Simply White has taken its place in my heart!!
Just two of the rooms were painted a color other than Simply White. I chose Benjamin Moore’s Stonington Gray for the lower-level bedrooms. Yes, it's true! I actually took a break from Benjamin Moore’s Gray Owl. Stonington Gray is a warm and stormy light gray with slight blue & green undertones giving it such a pretty hue. It feels super soft to me and is ideal for so many spaces.
All the doors, both interior and exterior, a few existing leaded glass windows, and the fireplace in the family room off the kitchen were all painted Sherwin Williams’ Tricorn Black. The most flawless black – I am obsessed with this color!
Two more colors that you might want to put on your paint wish list are Sherwin Williams’ Iron Ore and Benjamin Moore’s Cheating Heart. The former was used for the exterior siding. It is a great choice if you want something darker than gray but not quite black. Just fabulous!
And, finally, Benjamin Moore’s Cheating Heart was used on the ceiling of the lower level family room. This color is very popular for cabinets but, of course, I found another place to use it. Don’t be afraid to add color to a ceiling. A fun design element, this paint color will not disappoint.
So there you have it. All the colors of our Modern Tudor! I'm hoping you get inspired to paint your home! It's truly an affordable design component that will make things feel completely different and new. Send me your comments or questions about paint colors below.
Cheers to all of you! Hope you’re staying healthy and sane! And don’t forget to share your questions and comments. I love hearing from you.
