Deep Gray Laundry Room Shaker Cabinets
Going for something a little different: deep gray laundry room shaker cabinets with something familiar, white beveled subway backsplash tile.
One of my favorite design features in our new home is our upstairs laundry room. It’s not just about the size of the space or the fancy washers and dryers – what makes me love this space are all the finishes and the fact that it is perfectly placed in our home. Our laundry room sits just off the master bedroom closet, which is just off the master bath. It also opens to our upstairs hallway so the girls can get their laundry done too. It’s so handy that I haven’t even finished our downstairs laundry room. Brilliant plan – thank you, architect!
Initially, I thought I wanted a clean, white laundry room with white cabinets, white quartz countertops, and a patterned ceramic tile floor. But, while I love that look and have done it in many of my new builds and house flips, I opted for deep gray laundry room shaker cabinets with brushed gold hardware. I did bring in my beloved white on the walls and Swiss White quartz countertops. I selected a ceramic floor tile that looks like stone which we set it in a herringbone pattern. I am a huge fan of working with inexpensive tile and arranging it in a pretty design. (This simple technique makes it look like a much more expensive finish.) Overall, the color palette feels more decadent. It might even make doing laundry will be more fun!

Expertly laid ceramic tiles from Home Depot are the key to making the affordable chic!
For finishing touches, I highly recommend under counter washers and dryers, we chose some great ones from LG and we always use that extra counter space. I also chose an extra deep Elkay laundry sink for soaking and cleaning. Love it!

LG makes the most beautiful under-counter appliances. I got mine at Home Depot!
On my to-do list are adding a drying rod above the sink and I’m busy working on window coverings for this space but I guess everything is a work-in-progress so I will share again when those elements are complete.
