Creating a Home Gym – One of our Best Home Updates Yet
There are so many fun updates and changes that have happened and continue to happen on our Inverness project. Instead of another entertainment space, which was unneeded, we quickly got to work on our new home gym. Here is a peek at what proved to be one of our most convenient, fun, and useful transformations. Here is what we did!
Starting with a Window Change - Three small windows became one bigger window adding much needed natural light and an opportunity to add a view of the outdoors as we work up a sweat!
Checking Off All the Technical Stuff on Our List - We worked on some electrical updates for the wall mounted TV, fixed all the ducting to ensure good air and heat flow, and added flush mount fixtures. All the fluorescent lights had to go!
Deciding on Practical Flooring and Paint - Instead of adding the typical rubber gym floor, we installed beautiful hardwoods. The wood floors will be easy to clean and are much more versatile. Then onto drywall repair and painting. I love how simple and clean this paint color suits the hardwood floors. It will really come together once we install these beautiful, new closet doors.
Creating a Cool Accent Wall - Updating the largest wall in the room to feature an oversized mirror was a significant addition. Carrying this mirror in may have taken years off my life, but every bit of stress was worth it. Now the feature wall really opens up the space and adds even more light to the room.
Adding the Equipment - Choosing all the best equipment really supports our home fitness routine. Plus, they look sleek and not like your typical gym equipment. You know that is an added bonus for me!
None of this was too difficult or overwhelming. So, if you are considering this update in your home, I highly recommend making it happen. There is something about a space thats functional and pretty with all the necessary equipment that makes you want to get your sweat on!
