Our New Home: Master Bedroom

walk.jpg

When David and I began the journey of building our new home, I was very clear about our path. I have done this a time or two! (Ha, ha!) I knew all too well the twists and turns that would be ahead of us as we knocked down one dilapidated house and built a beautiful new home in its place. What I didn’t bargain for was how much I would love living in this home and that, hands down, one of my favorite rooms in the house was going to be the Master Bedroom.

Maybe it’s the pretty views or the relaxing paint color. Possibly it’s the new upholstered bed and beautiful nightstands I chose. Maybe adding my favorite lucite & gold bench, a beauty that I bought 5 years ago, was just the right touch. Was it the oversized Capiz Honeycomb chandelier? I fell in love with this Serena & Lily light fixture and snatched it up months before install!  It’s certainly all of these special choices combined into the sweetest master bedroom that a couple could have.

It’s all in the details: My favorite paint color is Benjamin Moore’s Gray Owl, the lucite & gold bench is from Jonathan Adler and the cozy, upholstered bed is from Joss & Main

I am not sure why it was a surprise to me. It’s everything that I designed it to be, but it pleasantly became so much more. This tranquil and beautiful room perched in the highest point of the house has become a respite from our busy lives and a place we wake each morning ready to take on our day. #SOWORTHIT!
